Abstract

The article attempts to conceptualize and substantiate modern methodological approaches to addressing current tasks of teacher training in the context of implementing the New Ukrainian School Concept. It is noted that the determination of methodological strategies is driven by society’s demand for a new generation teacher and by the multiparadigmatic nature of the educational process. Two methodological levels are characterized — descriptive and prescriptive — which reflect different aspects of scientific cognition. Alongside general scientific approaches, specific methodological approaches are identified, emphasizing their innovative character, as it forms the scientific foundation for implementing new strategies of teacher training. According to the functions performed by university instructors in the process of professional preparation, two groups of approaches are distinguished: organizational-managerial (educological, transgressive, adaptive, constructivist, and competence-based) and content-technological (interdisciplinary, praxeological, interactive, information-technological, contextual, variable, emotional/ ethical). These approaches allow for constructing a methodological framework that serves as a “structure” for developing a new vision of teacher training in contemporary education. A comparative analysis of teacher education models in EU countries has shown that the effectiveness of pedagogical education is ensured by the coherence of three components: the structural organization (binary, unitary, or differentiated models), the functional structure of the learning process (parallel or consecutive model), and the content of training (teacher of a universal, integrated, or subject-specific profile). Their harmonious combination shapes a dynamic, multidimensional system of teacher education focused on innovation, lifelong professional development, and adaptability to social transformations.
