The objective of this chapter is to provide a concise overview of the key stages in terminologу planning as part of language planning in Ukraine across different historical periods and to analyze the activities of leading Ukrainian state institutions, of the national standardization body and technical committees. Additionally, it outlines the legal and procedural framework for the development, adoption, and implementation of national standards in Ukraine. This chapter explores the interplay between language legislation, language policy, language planning, language planning in terminology, and terminology planning. Particular attention is given to international cooperation and explores the standardization of terminology in Ukraine in the context of international terminology standards. A detailed summary of the regulatory framework governing terminology work is provided, encompassing the processes for developing and approving standards in Ukrainian terminology. The analysis highlights current challenges affecting their implementation.
