Анотація
This research investigates the linguo-semiotic nature of modern English advertising slogans. Slogans are considered to be not merely as brief marketing tools but complex symbolic constructs that perform cognitive, emotional, communicative, and persuasive functions. The study distinguishes slogans from a semiotic-universalia perspective, applying methods of content, pragmatic, structural, and discourse analysis. Through the examination of 40 authentic samples of slogans from various industries, the research has disclosed that slogans operate as polyfunctional signs which encode cultural values, consumer ideologies, and identity models. The findings have demonstrated that modern advertising slogans function at multiple pragmatic levels and construct multilayered symbolic messages that significantly influence a consumer’s perception and behaviour. The paper contributes to a deeper comprehension of the interplay between language, culture, and persuasion in global advertising discourse.
