Abstract

The article considers the issue of improving the social skills of teachers in the context of civic education. The authors emphasize that social skills are necessary for the effective professional activity of a teacher, the formation of civic consciousness of students and the implementation of the principles of democratic interaction. Civic competencies are highlighted that contribute to the establishment of social interaction and require the improvement of social skills of teachers. Among the important steps for improving social skills, self-awareness and reflection, professional training, professional communities, partnership with parents and the community are highlighted. The role of educational institutions in supporting the social growth of a teacher is outlined, and a number of methods are proposed for the development of social skills of teachers
