Abstract

The translation project is dedicated to the translation and analysis of a fragment from the book Lies I Taught in Medical School: How Conventional Medicine Is Making You Sicker and What You Can Do to Save Your Own Life by Dr. Robert Lufkin. This popular science book explores misconceptions in modern medicine, emphasizing the lifestyle, nutrition, and metabolic health. The first chapter contains the original English fragment and its Ukrainian translation. The selected fragment includes the first two chapters of the book. The second chapter presents a translation analysis, focusing on the features of health related discourse, with particular attention to medical terminology, intertextual references (epigraphs, quotations), proper names, and the role of illustrations. Additionally, the analysis includes a study of the translation techniques applied during the translation process. This translation project will be interesting and useful for a Ukrainian audience interested in health, medicine, and preventive care
