Abstract
This project is devoted to the translation of the novel Lake of Darkness by A. Roberts. This work is unique due to the versatility of the author's linguistic style and the complexity of conveying scientific and technical terms and artistic devices into Ukrainian. The work contains a large number of specialized terms that reflect a scientific approach to describing events, as well as dialogues and monologues that are characterized by a peculiar sentence construction typical of the English language. This creates additional difficulties for the translation, as both linguistic and stylistic aspects of the text must be taken into account. The translation process was focused on preserving the semantic accuracy and artistic expressiveness of the original. Particular attention was paid to the euphony of the text in Ukrainian, so that it remains easy for readers to understand without losing the stylistic depth and individuality of the author's voice. The translation was made taking into account all elements of the text: from scientific details to the emotional component of the characters.
