Abstract

The BA paper uncovers the variety of literary devices in the book The Dark Skies Mystery: A World War II Thriller by Deron R. Hicks. They are studied as important elements of Deron Hicks story for children about events happed during World War II. As decorative elements of the text, literary devices manage emotional states of characters, add tension to the story and give the mystery to the readers. The project consists of Translation of the source text as Chapter 1 and translation commentary revealing translation techniques that were applied in the process of rendering book into Ukrainian.
