Abstract
The winter period of 2024/25 sports season is the end of the Olympic cycle because Italy will be hosting the Winter Olympics Games next year. A sports series dedicated to the 2024/25 winter season on YouTube channel named Kateryna Zamishailo tell about competitive season for Ukrainian athletes in five sports – as skeleton, biathlon, ice hockey, figure skating and freestyle. The series include interviews with Suspilne Sport journalists and commentators, which cover sports competitions in above-mentioned sports. Because Suspilne Sport is an exclusive broadcasters of the World Championships, the World Cups, the Europe Championships and the Europe Cups of these disciplines in Ukraine. Some series are also presented with interviews with athletes. The main goal of the project is give Ukrainians high-quality content about winter sports season, which is not only being educational, but aims to distract Ukrainians from stress they experienced during the war, even for such a short period of time. While watching sports events and content about them fans can experience a complex range of emotions – they can feel anger and happiness for a team or specific athlete, hoping for certain result. It was also important to show the state of readiness of the athletes for the main starts of the next season – the Olympic Games. As for the end of current season in some sports Ukraine has already some licenses to participate in the Olympics.
