Abstract

The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive examination of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy in the Republic of Poland over the past decade. The article explores the implementation of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy, in particular through the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, as well as with the involvement of organizations established by representatives of the Ukrainian minority. It demonstrates that the search for effective means of countering Moscow’s imperial narratives has prompted the adoption of asymmetric mechanisms. Among such mechanisms of Ukrainian “soft power” are the development of modern forms of international image-making and the revitalization of cultural development incentives. Imperial propaganda continues to distort Ukraine’s image in Europe and beyond, especially following the full-scale invasion. The study reveals that cultural diplomacy is essential for preserving the passionate potential of a generation fighting for its own state, nation, culture, language, and principles of freedom. In the context of global turbulence, an important task lies in building and consolidating interstate partnerships grounded in enhanced mutual understanding and growing trust. The analysis shows that the instruments of cultural diplomacy strengthen bilateral relations, improve sociocultural cooperation, and advance national interests abroad. The research methodology is based on the principles of objectivity, comprehensiveness, systemic analysis, and historicism. By applying both general scientific and specialized methods—such as generalization, analysis, and synthesis—the study substantiates the specific features of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy in Poland. The use of systems analysis made it possible to identify the main directions and future prospects of cooperation. The scientific novelty of this study lies in its consideration of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy in Poland under new geopolitical conditions. It highlights that Ukrainian diplomats, artists, public figures, and members of the diaspora, with the support of the Ukrainian state and civil society, employ the principal forms of cultural diplomacy in Poland—festivals, forums, exhibitions, and similar initiatives
