Abstract

This paper examines the representation of Ukrainian-Russian relations in 1914-1922 in a new Russian history textbook for secondary schools (2023). Through the prism of historical events, the authors' main approaches to the “Ukrainian question” in the specified historical period are analyzed. Most of the problems of bilateral relations are not only presented from a Russian-centric perspective, but are also subject to manipulation and distortion of facts. High school students are taught to view Ukraine as part of the Russian state, and the main narratives are consistent with official propaganda and publications by the leaders of the modern Russian state
