Abstract

The abstract highlights the practical significance of using the PECS alternative communication system in developing the communication skills of primary school children with autism spectrum disorders. It shows that the use of PECS contributes to the formation of proactive communication, increased communication motivation, and reduced manifestations of undesirable behavior. The use of the system also facilitates the integration of children into the educational environment, creating conditions for the activation of their communicative activity. The results confirm the feasibility of using PECS as an effective tool for supporting and developing communication in children with ASD.
