Abstract

The qualification work is devoted to the research and practical implementation of the game book as a tool of communication book design, the key role of which is to involve children (the "Alpha" generation) in the reading process. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to adapt traditional book formats to the new cognitive needs of the modern children's audience, which is growing in the conditions of dominance of digital technologies and requires highly dynamic, competitive interactive content. The study conducted a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of book publishing from flat illustrative forms to three-dimensional interactive formats, such as "pop-up". The analysis and research of the concept of "game book" with its variations: textual and visual - and its place in the book market were also conducted. The relationship between the designer, author and reader was established, and the role of communication design in the creation of publications was also revealed. In order to better assess the current state of the market and the issues of a child's relationship with a book, a sociological survey was conducted, the results of which were used in the study. Thanks to the survey and research into the specific properties of interactive publications, a way was determined to create a game book that would interest a child surrounded by digital platforms, which was implemented in the design project - the game book "Shadows of the Valley Blossom".
