Abstract
The relevance of the master's research is determined by the fact that despite existing steps towards the modernization of pedagogical education in Ukraine, there is still a lack of effective mechanisms for developing the emotional competence of future teachers, which reinforces the need for scientific understanding of the ways to form emotional intelligence in the system of higher pedagogical education in response to contemporary social and pedagogical challenges. The study focuses on challenges related to the consequences of war for higher education institutions, which create increased psychological burden on participants in the educational process, the need to ensure emotional resilience of teachers and their ability to support students in crisis conditions, as well as the problem of the mismatch between the emotional readiness of graduates of pedagogical specialties and modern educational standards, the deficit of self-regulation skills, empathy and constructive communication among young professionals, and issues of unsystematic approach to the development of emotional intelligence in the process of professional training of future teachers. The aim of the research is to theoretically substantiate the pedagogical conditions for the development of emotional intelligence of future teachers of higher education institutions; to identify its key components and structure; to analyze the impact of emotional intelligence on teaching effectiveness and to substantiate pedagogical conditions that will contribute to the development of emotional competence of future teachers in the system of university education. Accordingly, the research tasks are defined: to clarify the state of research on the problem of emotional intelligence development in theoretical sources, to analyze foreign and domestic experience in this field; to clarify the terminology of the research, to determine methodological approaches, principles and methods of studying the problem of emotional intelligence of future teachers; to substantiate the pedagogical conditions for the development of emotional intelligence of future teachers that will ensure the effectiveness of this process; to develop a program in the form of an elective course aimed at developing emotional intelligence in the process of professional training of teachers in higher education institutions. The object of the research is the development of emotional intelligence of future teachers in the educational process of higher education institutions, and the subject is the pedagogical conditions for the development of emotional intelligence of future teachers. The methodological basis consists of theoretical methods (analysis, comparison, systematization of scientific literature), the empirical method of content analysis of educational programs and the method of designing an author's educational course, as well as competence-based, personality-activity and systemic approaches, which ensured a comprehensive vision of emotional intelligence as a key professional competence of a modern teacher that is subject to purposeful development, and an integral system of interconnected components in the unity of content, technological and organizational aspects.
