Abstract
The relevance of the study is determined by the growing role of adult education in the context of globalization processes, digital transformation, dynamic changes in the labour market, as well as contemporary challenges for Ukrainian society related to martial law, population retraining, and the need for continuous professional and personal development. Under these conditions, the study and adaptation of effective foreign experience in organizing adult education becomes particularly important. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is one of the leading countries in the field of lifelong learning, characterized by a well-developed regulatory framework, flexible educational pathways, and the widespread use of innovative and digital learning formats. A contradiction has been identified between the increasing need of Ukrainian society for an effective adult education system and the insufficient level of scientific and methodological substantiation of ways to implement successful foreign experience into national educational practice. The purpose of the master’s thesis is to study the development trends and essential features of adult education in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as to develop methodological recommendations for their implementation in the adult education system of Ukraine. The practical significance of the study lies in the substantiation and development of methodological recommendations that can be used in the activities of adult education institutions, education management bodies, professional development and retraining centres to improve the national adult education system taking into account progressive British experience.
