Abstract
The relevance of the study is due to the competency-based content of education, which involves the formation of communicative skills and abilities in primary school students. The results of scientific research indicate that there are gaps in the development of students' monological skills as a component of communicative competence, which require teaching students to build monological coherent statements. This makes the search for effective ways for teachers to work in Ukrainian language lessons in primary school relevant. The paper substantiates that a modern way of teaching monologue speech can be a methodological system of teacher work aimed at teaching primary school students to construct various types of monologues. A contradiction has been identified between the need to use modern methods of forming monologue skills and the insufficient methodological substantiation of this process. The purpose of the work is to theoretically substantiate the content of the methodological system of the teacher's work on the formation of monologue speech skills of primary school students and to develop appropriate content and methodological support. The practical significance of the master's qualification work lies in the development of content-methodical support for the formation of monologue skills of primary school students. The author's approach contains developed methodological recommendations for teaching monologue speech in the 2nd grade of primary school.
