Abstract
The article examines the scientific problem of using elements of art therapy in art lessons to develop the creative skills of 2nd-grade students. The features of using elements of art therapy in working with primary school students (sand therapy, music therapy, color therapy, puppet therapy, and fairy tale therapy) are identified. The main tasks of each type of art therapy are outlined, including stabilizing the emotional state, as well as developing children’s creative abilities. The feasibility of using elements of art therapy in art lessons is determined, which helps children overcome emotional difficulties and contributes to the harmonious development of their personality. A series of exercises and creative tasks for the development of the creative skills of second-graders in art lessons has been adapted and developed. The appropriate tools have been identified in accordance with the content of 2nd-grade art textbooks. The use of art therapy elements in the development of creative tasks and exercises for primary school students has been proposed, and practical cases have been presented. Prospects for further exploration are associated with the enrichment of the series of exercises, creative tasks, and methods for developing the creative skills of 2nd-grade students. The article examines the effectiveness of using art-therapeutic techniques with primary school students, specifically sand therapy, music therapy, color therapy, doll therapy, and fairy tale therapy. Scientific approaches to the use of creative methods in the educational process and their impact on children’s emotional and cognitive development are examined. An analysis of scientific publications confirms the positive effects of art therapy on students’ self-expression, attention, memory, speech, and motor skills. The main objectives of each type of art therapy are described, including emotional stabilization, overcoming adaptation difficulties in the school environment, boosting self-esteem, and developing children’s creative abilities. The specifics of the interaction between students and teachers in the application of art therapy methods are determined, ensuring the formation of a favorable psychological atmosphere in the classroom. The issue of integrating art therapy techniques into the school curriculum as a means of psychological support and emotional intelligence development for young students is considered. Recommendations for the practical implementation of art therapy in the educational process are provided, contributing to stress reduction, improved communication, and emotional stability among students. Based on the analysis of a range of scientific sources, the essence of the concepts “creativity” and “skills” has been clarified. As a result, the meaning of the category “creative skills” has been specified. We define it as the ability to perform actions built upon the use of knowledge and experience acquired by a pupil in practice, aimed at creating qualitatively new material or spiritual values. The development of creative skills is directly influenced by the implementation of tasks and exercises that incorporate elements of art therapy, which not only enhance the skills themselves but also improve the emotional state of learners. Art therapy is defined as a method aimed at revealing a person’s creative potential, releasing hidden energy reserves, and thereby facilitating the search for optimal solutions to problems. The creative tools used in art therapy help students express their personal worldview, emotional attitudes, and improve their creative skills. In the course of our research, we identified five key directions of influence: sand therapy, music therapy, color therapy, doll therapy, and fairy tale therapy. Accordingly, we developed a set of art therapy- based tasks and exercises for fostering creative skills in second-grade students during art lessons, including: “Treasures in the Sand,” “Musical Emotions,” “Mood Drawing,” “Friends for the Little Bunny,” “Forest Animals,” and “Musical Instruments from Grandma’s Magic Chest.” Some of these activities are designed using components of digital music labs and mobile applications, making them suitable for use in both online and blended learning environments.
