Abstract
The relevance of the study is determined by current educational trends focused on the development of individuals capable of independently acquiring knowledge, thinking critically, solving problems, and making responsible decisions. The scientific works of Ukrainian scholars do not sufficiently reveal the content of educational and research activities in the study of civic and historical education. This necessitates the search for effective ways to develop research skills in the field of civic and historical education. The work substantiates that a modern effective means of developing research skills in the study of civic and historical education can be the completion of research tasks that stimulate cognitive activity, develop critical thinking, and prepare students for full-fledged research activities. The purpose of the work is to theoretically substantiate, develop, and experimentally test a system of research tasks in the field of civic and historical education for the development of research skills in third-grade students. The practical significance of the master's qualification project lies in the development of a workbook of research tasks for the formation of research skills in third-grade students in the field of civic and historical education.
