Abstract
The master's qualification project is devoted to research on the formation of logical-mathematical competence of senior preschool age children in the process of thinking. The relevance of the topic is due to several factors: the modern world is changing rapidly and children need critical thinking skills; the ability to think helps children make conscious choices, take informed decisions, and become more independent in their actions and judgments; children with developed thinking skills adapt more quickly to the requirements of modern educational institutions. The results of the study indicate that insufficient attention is paid to the development of thinking in senior preschool age children in general and to the formation of logical-mathematical competence in particular. This has led to the search for innovative and effective means to stimulate the process of thinking. The distinction between the concepts of “thinking” and “the process of thinking” is examined. It is clarified that the process of thinking is “the immersion of thoughts in something, comprehensive weighing of something”, whereas thinking is understood as “the result of the thinking process, including a thought, viewpoint, or belief”. The research of modern educators, both foreign (G. Gardner, J. Piaget, M. Montessori) and Ukrainian (O. Brezhnev, L. Zaitsev) on the researched topic, is analyzed. The psychological and pedagogical conditions for the development of logical thinking are considered: creating a motivational environment, ensuring the child's interaction with adults and peers, organizing games and exercises that activate logical operations, and a gradual transition from a visual to a verbal-logical form of thinking. The importance of using various tools to stimulate the process of thinking is substantiated, the methodology of forming logical-mathematical competence through the organization of the thinking process is described, which involves the use of logical games, exercises, problem situations, didactic tasks, information and communication technology tools. The practical significance of the master's qualification project lies in the development of interactive information and communication technology tools published on the OSYA website, which provide visibility, emotional saturation and the involvement of children in the process of active thinking. The author's website includes sections: educational content (recommendations for parents and educators), logical and mathematical tasks, interactive games, multimedia presentations, didactic games developed on online educational platforms (Mozaik Education, LogicLike, LearningApps).
