Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to the fact that a modern trend in the education system is personalization and digitalization. Modern digital technologies and the digital environment are becoming a means that corresponds to a qualitatively new content of child development and education, and enhances the efficiency of organizing the educational process in preschool education institutions. This requires modernization of the content of preschool education, introduction of new didactic approaches to forming children's first skills of digital culture, and creation of digital educational resources. A contradiction has been identified between the need to use digital devices in educational interactions with preschool-age children and the absence of a developed comprehensive methodology, as well as the risks of this process to the physical and mental health of preschool-age children. The number of digital devices and applications designed for preschool-age children is constantly increasing, while research dedicated to children's use of information technologies remains insufficient. The purpose of the study is to provide theoretical justification and experimental verification of the pedagogical conditions for using digital devices in educational interactions with preschool-age children. The study substantiates that the implementation of digital technologies in preschool education contributes to increasing children's motivation for learning, developing creativity, attention, and thinking. It emphasizes the importance of teachers' digital competence, who must be able to effectively integrate digital technologies into the educational process and ensure children's digital hygiene improvement. The positive and negative aspects of children's use of information technologies are examined. The practical significance of the master's project lies in the development of content-methodological support for using digital devices in educational interactions with preschool-age children. The methodological guide "Using Digital Devices in Educational Interactions with Preschool-Age Children" (On One Digital Wave: Gadget as a Tool for Joint Development, Not a Babysitter) contains developed practical recommendations for parents and educators on the effective and safe implementation of digital devices (smartphones, tablets) and the development of digital competence in older preschool-age children.
