Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is of particular importance for Kyiv, as the war has caused serious humanitarian and economic challenges for the capital. The destruction of infrastructure, the emergence of a large number of internally displaced persons, and the growth of social vulnerability of residents have increased the need for new mechanisms to support urban communities. It is social enterprises in Kyiv that are quickly responding to these challenges: organizing assistance to displaced persons, creating jobs, providing access to services, and facilitating the integration of various social groups into the urban environment. At the same time, they are considered one of the key tools for the post-war reconstruction of the capital, as they combine business models with a social mission, support the local economy, and form a culture of participation. This contributes not only to economic stability, but also to the restoration of trust and cohesion in the Kyiv community, which is consistent with the vision of international organizations that emphasize the role of the social economy in sustainable urban development. The structure of social enterprises in the capital city is analyzed by sector. The results of a survey of Ukrainian youth, who demonstrate a high level of interest in social entrepreneurship, are presented. This indicates the potential for the development of a new wave of social enterprises in Kyiv and Ukraine as a whole. The structure of social enterprises in Kyiv demonstrates their contribution to the formation of an inclusive and sustainable urban environment, where the priority areas are ecology, integration of vulnerable groups, and human capital development.
