Abstract
The article examines the development of art studios during periods of global crises, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic and wartime conditions, through the concept of “Art as a Service.” The relevance of the topic is determined by the significant impact of instability on the creative industries and the need to adapt traditional business models to conditions of uncertainty. The purpose of the study is to analyze new service-oriented business models of art studios, identify their advantages and challenges, and formulate recommendations for increasing resilience and competitiveness in times of crisis. To achieve this goal, a set of research methods was applied, including content analysis of studio case studies, surveys and interviews with studio owners and managers, as well as a comparative analysis of business models before and after crisis periods. The study considers the main types of service models, including subscriptions to creative content, personalized services, online platforms and distance learning, co-production and collaborations, flexible pricing strategies, and “pay-what-you-want” models. The research demonstrates that service-based models allow studios to expand their client base, stabilize revenue streams, increase audience loyalty, and manage financial planning more flexibly even during periods of pandemic and war. At the same time, several challenges are identified, including technological barriers, risks of unstable income, and the need to preserve the artistic value of creative products. The conclusions provide practical recommendations for art studios, particularly regarding the combination of revenue models, investment in digital platforms, and the adaptation of business strategies to conditions of uncertainty. The results obtained have both theoretical and practical significance for the development of creative industries and the economics of art in times of crisis.
