Abstract
This Bachelor's degree dissertation explores foreign reading trends in Ukraine through the lens of an author's podcast series. It analyses the current state and dynamics of Ukrainian readers' adoption of foreign literary trends. It reveals the mechanisms by which global publishing phenomena are adapted and integrated into the Ukrainian context, examining the popularity of specific genres (e.g. Scandinavian crime fiction and Asian prose), authors and series (including young adult and non-fiction). The role of author podcasts as a tool for mediating and shaping reading tastes is examined in detail, with a focus on their potential to popularise foreign literature and the impact of this. The research explores how podcasts contribute to understanding and integrating global reading trends into domestic culture, creating a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas among readers. It also evaluates the influence of these trends on the Ukrainian book market, publishing activities and the formation of a national reading identity. The results of the research confirm the growing importance of foreign trends for Ukrainian readers and emphasise the significance of podcasts as an effective communication channel. The primary goal is to create a comfortable environment for female readers. The publication is presented as a reliable companion, offering information in an easily accessible format. Engaging young people is achieved through visually appealing, dynamic text and audiovisual content.
