Abstract
The bachelor's thesis is a comprehensive research project about forgotten Ukrainian cultural organizations of the 1920s and 30s and sheds light on their role in the cultural and social development of Ukraine. At the center of the research is the bilingual Instagram project «erased.ua», which uses creative visual design and carefully crafted content to make historical figures and institutions of this period visible in a digital format. Based on a thorough analysis and on the innovative author's project, erased.ua explores how social media can be used as a platform for memory culture and historical education. It shows how history is told in the digital space, how visual language and storytelling influence the perception of historical content. It focuses on the interaction between digital communication, cultural memory, and national identity and shows how collective forgetting can be scrutinized and reimagined through digital projects. By combining design, research and media practice, the work contributes to the current debate on the communication of history in the digital age. In addition, the erased.ua project is an innovative digital platform that reimagines historical narratives and makes them accessible to a wide audience through bilingualism. Through visual content, educational texts and research, the project serves as a dynamic space for an interactive culture of memory and opens up new perspectives on the role of social media in history education. Thus, this study makes an important contribution to the understanding of digital memory culture and shows how historical topics can be transmitted in a modern and effective way on social media. The combination of theoretical analysis and practical implementation through the erased.ua project creates impulses for science, media practice, and cultural education in the digital space.
