Abstract
The bachelor’s thesis examines the coverage of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 in British media and its influence on shaping public opinion in the Western world. The study analyzes the work of journalists such as Gareth Jones and Walter Duranty, as well as the role of media in disseminating truthful information or distorting it under the influence of Soviet propaganda. The relevance of the topic is substantiated in the context of modern information warfare and the spread of manipulative narratives regarding historical events. Particular attention is paid to the mechanisms of media influence, the formation of public opinion, and the role of journalism in countering disinformation. The practical component involves the creation of video content for YouTube aimed at promoting historical awareness among young audiences. The project combines a research-based approach with modern formats of digital journalism and visual communication. The study employs historical analysis, content analysis, comparative analysis, media studies, and technical analysis of video production, enabling a comprehensive exploration of the topic and evaluation of the media project’s effectiveness.
