Abstract

The article examines the features of developing the creative potential of future choreographers through project-based activities in higher art education. Theoretical approaches to understanding creative potential as a complex personality characteristic encompassing cognitive abilities, personal characteristics, motivational factors, and professional competencies are analyzed. The specificity of choreographic education,realized through performance, improvisational, and compositional creativity, is defined. The methodological foundations of using project-based activities as an effective means of developing creative potential, based on the ideas of J. Dewey and W. Kilpatrick about learning through experience and active student participation, are substantiated. Using the example of the academic discipline “Technologies of Project Activities in Choreography,” it is demonstrated that systematic work on creating a choreographic product ensures the formation of integrated project competence combining theoretical knowledge, artistic thinking, technical skills, and managerial abilities. The possibilities of integrating modern technologies (virtual real- ity, motion capture technologies) into project activities to expand the boundaries of choreographic art are considered. The relevance of developing the creative potential of future choreographers in the context of full-scale war is emphasized, when creativity becomes an instrument for forming national-cultural identity. Prospects for further research in developing specific methods of using project activities at different stages of choreographer training are identified.
