Abstract
The article theoretically substantiates the essence and main tasks of socio-pedagogical work with younger schoolchildren with special educational needs (SEN) in the context of modern educational reforms in Ukraine. It analyzes the significance of theatrical practices as a powerful innovative tool for the socialization, emotional development, and communicative growth of children aged 6–10 in out-of-school education settings. The potential of various theatrical forms – theatrical games, role-playing, improvisation, dramatization, and elements of forum theater – in developing social competence, emotional intelligence, empathy, and tolerance is thoroughly revealed. Based on the survey of 12 specialists and 18 parents, as well as a structured interview with an experienced practitioner, an experimental study was carried out at the Center for Scientific and Tech-nical Creativity of Youth «Sfera». The ascertaining stage identified limited systematic use of theatrical prac-tices, insufficient professional training of teachers, and a high level of parental interest in this form of work. The formative stage involved testing the author’s inclusive theatrical club program «Theater of Friendship and Understanding» with 11 children with various types of SEN, which demonstrated statistically significant pos-itive changes. The study recorded an improvement in communication skills in 8 out of 11 children, emotional regulation in 7 out of 11 children, and self-esteem in 8 out of 11 children. The developed practical recommen-dations cover organizational conditions, methodological support, cooperation with parents, teacher training, and monitoring of results. These recommendations take into account the real needs and opinions of both spe-cialists and parents. The research results confirm that theatrical practices represent an effective innovative means of socio-pedagogical work. They successfully overcome socialization barriers and ensure the harmonious development of younger schoolchildren with SEN in an inclusive environment. The obtained findings open new perspectives for the wider implementation of theatrical practices in the system of out-of-school education. Further research should focus on long-term monitoring of the effectiveness of such programs and the creation of methodological manuals for teachers
