Abstract

The article reveals the essence of social rehabilitationof children with disabilitiesas a complex and multifaceted process aimed at restoring, developing, and supporting the social capabilities of children with disabilities, as well as promoting their successful socialization and integration into society. The main scientific approaches to the interpretation of social rehabilitation in the fields of social work, social pedagogy, psychology, and related disciplines are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to defining the principles, tasks, and functions of social rehabilitation aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for development and full participation of children with disabilities in social life. The key directions of social rehabilitation activities in the practice of social work are identified. These include socio-pedagogical support, psychological assistance, the development of social and communication skills, the formation of life competencies, and the promotion of independence and activity of children with disabilities. Considerable attention is given to supporting families raising children with disabilities, as the family acts as an important environment for socialization and one of the key factors in the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process. The importance of ensuring children’s access to educational, social, and cultural resourcesof society is also emphasized.The article outlines theoretical models and approaches to the organization of social rehabilitation, including the humanistic, systemic, inclusive, and interdisciplinary approaches. The importance of cooperation among specialists from different fields -social work, education, psychology, medicine, and representatives of public organizations -in creating a comprehensive support system for children with disabilities is highlighted.It is concluded that effective social rehabilitation involves not only the provision of specialized social services but also the creation of a barrier-free environment that ensures social integration, the realization of rights and opportunities for children with disabilities, and their full participation in the life of society.
