Abstract
During the last decades the use of different forms of improvement of professional competence has increased due to the development of information technology, including those in non-formal education sector. In the education market both free and commercial courses are well represented, and their target group is teaching staff. At the same time, certain differences exist in understanding of efficiency of both formal and non-formal education sectors, their advantages and disadvantages that must be considered when choosing the content, forms and methods to increase the level of professional competence. The purpose of this study is to determine the impressions of teachers who participate in non-formal education and their subjective assessment of the effectiveness of such training. The article provides a brief overview of features of non-formal education, its difference from formal and informal education, the grounds for choosing the method of study, as well as its results.
