Abstract
In the publication the problem of development of leadership potential future leaders of educational institutions in the process of professional training master’s program in the speciality “Management of educational institutions” has been described. The authors have defined the basic concepts of the studied problem, developed and substantiated profile chief-leader of the educational institution, the structural and functional model of psychological support of the development of the leadership potential of the leaders of the institution of higher education, and found the specificity of diagnosis of potential future leaders of the institution in the process of professional preparation. Actualization of leadership as a new managerial paradigm, the essence of which meets the modern realities, determinated by the existing social trends, the transformation of values and organizational structures and the crisis of the existing administrative-managerial management model. Major paradigmatic changes, characteristic of modern approaches to the professional training of educational institutions (further the institution of higher education) should include: – transformation of the content of professional training of managers of the institution of higher education towards the development of the leadership potential, which is caused by the evolution of the theory and practice of management; – implementation of a competence approach in education, which is the diagnosis and the development of behavioral future leaders of the institution of higher education. Managers’ training at the institution of higher education in Ukraine is carried out through the master program on the specialty “Management of educational institutions”. Analysis of the national regulatory framework of the implementation of professional training programs for leaders of the institution of higher education showed that the current Branch standard of higher education of Ukraine “Preparation of the master on specific categories 8.00009 Management of educational institutions” requires improvement. In particular, a significant shortcoming of the current Standard is the fact it is “overburdened” and associated with the detail of the content of training at the same time without a synthesis of conceptual landmark in the form of a profile of the head of the institution of higher education. This situation leads to the formalization of management training of the institution of higher education in Ukraine and its inconsistency with the concept of a modern educational policy. The problem of modernization of the master program in Management of educational institutions towards implementation of the methodology of professional development of leader - the leader of the higher educational institution is based on competence basis. The aim of this publication is to: – to find out the specifics and justify the meaning of the diagnosis leader’s potential of the institution of higher education; – state and substantiate the theoretical and methodological basis of development of leadership potential in the process of formation of the managerial competence of the heads of educational institutions; – identify and describe the tools, methods and techniques of diagnostics of leadership potential of the heads of educational establishments.
