Abstract
The article deals with a study of the hierarchy of the modern teacher competencies through understanding competence approach as paradigmatic-defining in the system of modern education in Ukraine. Professional-and-pedagogical competence of the modern teacher is presented as a unity of key competencies: psychological-and-pedagogical; special-subject (the collection of subject competencies ); methodological; methodical; self-education.
