Abstract
The article highlights one of the burning issues of higher education in Ukraine, namely the education of a new generation of competitive teaching staff, including primary school teachers, on the ideas of mutual understanding, mutual respect, and tolerance; the need to find and implement the effective means of students’ tolerant consciousness and behaviour forming into the practice of high school is stressed; the means that can significantly optimize the process of prospective primary school teachers’ education for tolerance are defined.
