Abstract
The main historical milestones of creation and peculiarities of formation of new generation of frames of the domestic publishing industry are analyzed in the article. The author examines the current state of training of specialists and highlights the main modern trends in the training of editorial, publishing and journalistic staff. As a result of working out the problem, the introduction of digital transformation of the educational process, practical-oriented system of education, mechanisms and realities of using the distance learning in knowledge acquisition, integration of formal and non-formal education, implementation of the principles of student-centered activity of higher educational institutions are illustrated. The problems of modern training of publishing personnel and the restraining aspects of its development are revealed. Among the most painful, the author emphasizes the cost of creating and maintaining the material and technical base of universities, financial and, accordingly, personnel problems. Attention is drawn to the fact that a considerable part of talented young people prefer higher education abroad, through more flexible rules of entry, organization of the educational process and opportunities to access the labor markets of the leading countries of the world. The author made suggestions to the authorities to improve the current situation. The legislative and executive bodies of the state should motivate innovative development of higher education institutions, encourage students to qualitative knowledge, to regulate partnership with business, employers, to promote integration into the international educational community. The ever-increasing burden on academic staff in higher education requires a change in attitude and the introduction of an adequate level of motivation, social standards and guarantees, in particular, remuneration. The educational sector needs further decentralization, conducting professional discussions on topical issues, for example, to return the specialty “publishing and editing” to the list of branches of knowledge and specialties.
