Abstract

The article examines the specifics of professional training of university students in the class of a special instrument (piano). The expediency of using a set of methods and means of training future pianists-performers and piano teachers in compliance with scientific and pedagogical principles has been scientifically substantiated and proven. The scientific and methodical works on the problems of professional training of piano students in universities of Ukraine were analyzed. The specifics of teaching a special instrument (piano) in higher education and the content of individual classes in the subject are revealed, the structure of the educational repertoire and methods of its assimilation by students are outlined. Based on the analysis of the educational and professional training program for bachelors of musical arts specializing in «Instrumental performance (piano)» and work programs in the specialty, the tasks and content of the professional training of piano students at the university were determined, as well as aspects that needed improvement and special research were identified. The main forms and types of educational activity and methods of professional training of university students in the piano class are defined. The educational value of the forms and types proposed by the authors (theoretical, practical; individual classroom classes, distance learning, independent work), methods (general scientific, pedagogical, special musical) and teaching aids (communicative, informational, material and technical) that ensure the effectiveness of professional training students in the piano class, is characterised. Conclusions were formulated that: 1) the level of professional training of student pianists at the university depends on the rational organization of the educational process in the piano class in accordance with today's requirements and in compliance with scientific and pedagogical principles; 2) the comprehensive use by teachers of a special instrument (piano) of effective forms, methods and means of teaching in combination with author's methods and original performance style contributes to the formation of a performance school and ensures the success of preparing students for professional activities.
