Abstract
The authors of the submitted article revealed the organizational and methodological foundations of using virtual reality (VR) in elementary school, the content of the concept of virtual reality, as well as the use of technologies in school. The authors of the article identified examples of work with this technology and the stages of using VR technology at school. In the 21st century, we can improve learning through technology. Virtual reality (VR) seems like a natural next step in the evolution of education. In this article, we will show how virtual reality can change the way educational material is presented. Before we delve into how virtual re-ality in education can improve learning, we need to know and understand why we need to improve the quality of learning. Education, like any other process, is bound to be digitized when high technologies replace or com-plement old materials and processes. And if in Western countries, the introduction of advanced technologies in education takes place in parallel with their development, then in Ukraine it still lags behind, sometimes due to a bias towards the use of the latest gadgets. The use of electronic books on tablets is not the norm for Ukrainian schools and is implemented only as individual solutions at the level of individual educational institutions or district administrations. However, the Ministry of Education of Ukraine is expanding the implementation of technologies in the educational process through the initiation of various programs. In particular, this applies to the use of virtual reality (VR) technology in education, which is becoming mainstream around the world. According to experts' forecasts, in the near future VR and AR technologies will become a full-fledged educa-tional tool alongside textbooks, because this format is the most interesting and understandable for the modern generation of schoolchildren. The possibilities of technology are extremely wide, so the scope of its use in the educational process is limited only by the wishes of teachers. Historically, most of the technology required for learning has focused on providing access to information – facts about the world. Often, when children read something or watch a video, they want to experience it in real life. So VR will help with that. They will be able to research a topic or phenomenon and see, feel in reality how everything is happening. Thanks to VR, students will be able to easily get real experience and thereby better learn the studied material. It provides an incredi-ble learning experience. Thanks to this, students will be able to learn by doing rather than passively reading. At the same time, it mostly depends not on the technology, but on the teacher who teaches, on his methods and teaching style. The most important thing is to make knowledge accessible to every student. In addition, the article discusses why Ukrainian education needs the use of virtual reality technologies in primary school. Education, like any other process, is bound to be digitized when high technologies replace or complement old materials and processes. And if in Western countries, the introduction of advanced technologies in education takes place in parallel with their development, then in Ukraine it still lags behind, sometimes due to a bias to-wards the use of the latest gadgets. The possibilities of technology are extremely wide, so the scope of its use in the educational process is limited only by the wishes of teachers. The authors also analyzed the available research on this topic in foreign and domestic articles, how to most expediently implement virtual reality technology in schools, and identified resources that will help make lessons more interesting.
