Abstract

Systematic introduction of STEM education for mastering the integrated course "Health, safety and well-being" requires a rethinking of approaches to the formation of students' competencies. It is necessary to move from the direct presentation of rules, advice, warnings, sometimes quite unappealable, to constructive training. A scientific approach to the formation of a safety culture will provide a much better effect than studying a simple algorithm of behavior that may not work when internal or external conditions change. It is necessary to develop in students an understanding of the reasons for the necessity of certain actions, to show how their safety, health and well-being are connected with other disciplines, in particular, mathematics, technology, etc. This will allow students to gain an understanding of how to live safely in today's dynamic world.
