Abstract
A characteristic feature of the modern stage of education development is computerization and intensive development of all branches of science and production. As a consequence of this fact, a deep awareness of the irreversibility of democratic changes taking place in education and society in general is formed. Today, primary school pupils demonstrate greater awareness, erudition, and a desire of acquiring knowledge. Considering the relevance of the research, the work highlights peculiarities of the organizing the educational process of teaching / learning a foreign language in primary school and emphasis is placed on the importance of using information and communication technologies that affect the cognitive activity of the junior age pupils.
