Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of organizational and methodological support for processing educational material on the content line "Exploring Media" in the language and literature educational field for students in the 3(4) grades. The essence and content of the basic concepts of the researched topic are disclosed. A theoretical analysis of media education concepts and its role in the modern educational process is conducted. The necessity of preparing teachers for working on the study of media products in Ukrainian language lessons in primary school is justified. The main factors contributing to the successful formation of media-productive skills and abilities in primary school students are outlined. Emphasis is placed on the importance of forming media-productive skills in younger students within the system of meta-subject skills and competencies. The methodology for studying the mentioned content line is considered, including organizational aspects and practical directions of the teacher's work in forming media literacy in younger students. The main stages of the methodology for forming media-productive skills in primary school students (preparatory, basic, final) are specified. A complex of appropriate methods and techniques, forms and means of teaching students to create media products is presented. The typology of exercises and tasks that are expedient to use in the process of developing media competence in primary school students is described. Methodical recommendations for teachers on processing the content line "Exploring Media" in the practice of primary Ukrainian language teaching are formulated. The state of assimilation of knowledge and the formation of media competence in younger students are analyzed and diagnosed. A recommended assessment system aimed at checking the knowledge and skills of students in this section is proposed. Monitoring the effectiveness of the developed organizational and methodological foundations for implementing the content line "Exploring Media" in Ukrainian language lessons in primary school has been conducted.
