Abstract
The purpose of the article is to determine the role of smart-technologies as an innovative and intellectual tool in the development of the system of higher philological education during the formation of competencies among students of the faculties of Ukrainian philology. Digital transformation has been actively unfolding since the beginning of the 21st century, but the COVID pandemic has only exacerbated it. Today, all subjects of the educational process rely on technology in a way that none of them could even imagine until now. In the following years, the trend will only increase, so the topic of using the benefits of technological education is updated and scaled. A new network generation of people is growing, who cannot imagine life without new technological devices. However, despite this, modern education does not sufficiently influence the development of human capital in the digital environment. The article examines the aspects of classical philological education in universities with elements of the introduction of smart technologies, analyzes the features of smart technologies as an intellectual tool for the modernization of higher education; the advantages and disadvantages of using smart technologies for the education of philologists are determined. An important advantage of the presented research is the definition of specific areas and methods of using smart technologies for the formation of professional competencies of applicants of the faculties of Ukrainian philology. Such an angle makes it possible to avoid excessive theorizing and abstract exposition of the material. Despite the fact that the article has a more theoretical and generalizing nature, it can still be considered an introduction to a number of subsequent studies on how to integrate smart technologies into the higher education of philologists, in particular for the teaching of specific philological courses and even sections linguistics and literary studies. A balanced approach to the use of smart technologies for the professional education of Ukrainian philologists enables an enriching impact on the educational environment, without making smart technologies an end in itself or an alien element that distorts philological education, which primarily deals with the category of love for words. On the contrary, ignoring the potential of smart technologies for the education of philologists makes the university environment retrograde, lifeless, doomed to unqualified graduates of philological specialties. In addition, smart technology should be positioned as a lifelong learning tool. It is appropriate to teach students to use smart technologies during their independent work in order to expand the possibilities of implementing smart education and the range of competences formed due to this at the intersection of narrowly philological and computer
