Abstract
The article highlights the results of implementing a program aimed at psychocorrective development of students' critical thinking. The presented program comprises five modules, each including both theoretical and practical components. Independent student work with relevant materials is also incorporated into each module. The program was implemented over the course of 10 sessions, with a total duration of 30 academic hours, including 10 hours of independent study. Fifty full-time and part-time students specializing in "Practical Psychology" at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University participated in the formative experiment.For both preliminary and final testing, the following methods were employed: the 'Test of Critical Thinking' (L. Starkey, adapted by O. Lutsenko) and the author's questionnaire 'Media Literacy 2.' The results obtained indicate that after the psychocorrective intervention, students in the experimental group showed significant improvement in various aspects, including the recognition and application of persuasive techniques in speech, letters, and advertising; the ability to locate necessary information resources; the recognition of distraction techniques aimed at inducing logical errors; the ability to differentiate between explanations and arguments and use them correctly; goal-setting skills; a reduced tendency to misuse deductive reasoning; and the application of critical thinking during exams and decision-making processes. The program demonstrated effectiveness in enhancing media literacy, as evidenced by the considerable progress shown by participants in the experimental group in detecting inaccurate information. We foresee further research prospects, including expanding the target audience and developing individual course modules to counteract Russian narratives and propaganda, considering their specific characteristics.
