Abstract

The article delves into the unique features of the organization of adult education in Canada, analyzing the development of the sphere within the framework of national social and economic policy, which emphasizes lifelong learning. Canadian adult education is designed to support ongoing professional development, retraining, and upskilling in a variety of sectors. The main characteristic of this system is the flexibility of its programs, which are adapted to the diverse schedules and learning needs of adult learners. The widespread use of advanced distance learning technologies in Canada facilitates access to quality education over a large geographic area, while inclusivity is a core principle ensuring that educational opportunities are accessible to a wide demographic, including marginalized groups. Among the critical issues identified in the article are issues related to equitable access for individuals from different socioeconomic and demographic backgrounds, which requires policy measures to support the inclusion of underrepresented groups. Funding adult education is another challenge, as maintaining program quality and accessibility requires stable resources and innovative financial models. In addition, the rapid evolution of labor market needs is putting significant pressure on adult education providers to adapt their offerings, requiring close collaboration between educational institutions, industries, and policymakers. The article goes on to highlight the crucial role played by both governmental and non-governmental organizations in maintaining adult education standards and accessibility in Canada. Government agencies provide the necessary guidance and resources, while NGOs contribute innovative methods and structures to support the community, helping to expand access to education. This collaborative approach aims to improve the effectiveness, inclusivity, and adaptability of adult education in Canada, aiming to empower people and promote the economic sustainability of the entire country.
