Abstract

Today, the works of Ukrainian artists, which are available in the interactive space, become part of the cultural front, thanks to which Ukrainians are known in the world, they are identified and modern collections of artistic masterpieces are started. In this connection, the work of the graduate of the master’s degree in the last fifteen years of Borys Grynchenko Kyiv (now the Metropolitan) University o Iryna Volodymyrivna Sytnyk (b. 1977) attract attention as a personal oasis of paintings with powerful energy, which reflects the nature of Ukraine, in particular the landscapes of Kyiv, with their unique colors of life and “music” of sensations. On occasion, attention should be paid to the exhibition activities of the artist, who, in addition to participating in numerous collective exhibitions of artists of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (in twenty projects), during this time regularly held her own personal events once every two or three years, of which she has already held three. Given the intensity of the modern creative life of the capital and the whole of Ukraine, especially in the current difficult time of testing fate for our state, these events did not remain unnoticed against the background of others, but became bright events on the artistic map of various cities of Ukraine, and, most of all, Kyiv. So, in 2018, 2020 and 2023, Iryna Volodymyrivna Sytnyk, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor of the Fine Arts Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of the Borys Grynchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, held large-scale exhibitions. Including in the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv and the gallery of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine «Mytets» in the center of the capital. This served as a new scale of the artist’s achievements not only in terms of her own development trajectory, but also in connection with the new directions of modern fine art of Ukraine in general. At the same time, certain developments became possible for the author after many years of work on the dissertation work, dedicated to the creative activity of Tetyana Nylivna Yablonska, successfully defended in the fall of 2023 at the Borys Grynchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, thanks to which she was able to train her eye and learn to see subtle nuances of color, light and shade, stylistic movements, in general, the idea of each individual work. Closely communicating with the heritage of an extremely talented artist-pedagogue, who in the second half of the 20th century was a real metro of national painting, Iryna Volodymyrivna Sytnyk also experiments with an impressionistic manner, elements of realism, modernist art and glamor in some of her works, and also reveals the titanic power of the spirit, inherent in the history of art to the work of Titian, Rembrandt, Yablonskaya and other extraordinary artists of the New and Modern times.
