Abstract

This article provides an analytical review of Vasyl Shulyar’s monograph «Teaching Literature in Cooperation», which focuses on the technology of cooperative learning within the framework of competency-based literary education in the New Ukrainian School. The relevance of the topic is highlighted, and the structure and content of the work are analyzed, noting its theoretical depth and practical value. Recommendations for future research directions are also provided. The monograph systematically explores the concept of cooperative learning for NUS, offering valuable methodological materials to help teachers achieve educational goals and transform literature lessons into opportunities for research, dialogue, and discovery. The work demonstrates how cooperative learning can enhance students' understanding of texts, develop empathy, and improve argumentation skills. Key achievements of the monograph include the development of a comprehensive methodology for using flashcards and visual aids, the creation of competency-based exercises for various forms of cooperative work, and the implementation of original methodological models for literature classes based on numerous literary works. The author effectively synthesizes existing research with novel approaches, offering new practical learning situations. The study is deemed a valuable contribution to the methodology of literature education, providing a solid foundation for future research and methodological developments.
