Abstract
The exigency of this research stems from the accelerated digital transformation of society, which, while affording novel opportunities, simultaneously engenders considerable threats to humanitarian security. Prominent among these are the pervasive dissemination of disinformation, algorithmic manipulation, and cognitive overload, thereby necessitating rigorous scholarly analysis and the formulation of systemic countermeasures. Within this framework, critical thinking assumes the status of a pivotal cognitive instrument for ensuring the resilience of both individual and collective consciousness. The objective of this article is to analyze critical thinking as a fundamental epistemological framework capable of counteracting extant challenges to humanitarian security. The study employs an interdisciplinary methodology, integrating philosophical inquiry, social communication studies, and investigations into digital technologies. To achieve the delineated objective, methods of systematization, comparative analysis, and the synthesis of theoretical constructs were implemented. The findings of this research corroborate the multifaceted functional significance of critical thinking. It furnishes cognitive protection against manipulative influences through the capacity for the analytical evaluation of informational sources. Concurrently, critical thinking contributes to the cultivation of resilience against disinformation by augmenting the level of media literacy. Moreover, it emerges as a salient factor in sustaining ethical interaction within the digital milieu, shaping the axiological orientations requisite for tolerant and responsible communication. Of particular salience is the role of the educational system, which must integrate the cultivation of critical thinking as a foundational interdisciplinary competency within the pedagogical process. The conclusions underscore that the efficacious mitigation of contemporary threats to humanitarian security necessitates the synergy of cognitive, technological, and social strategies. Future scholarly investigations should be directed towards examining the impact of generative artificial intelligence, the adaptation of educational paradigms to the exigencies of the digital era, and the development of integrated systems for the surveillance of informational risks
