Анотація

This study is devoted to the overview of the book Home Doctor: Practical Medicine for Every Household by dr. Maybell Nieves, dr. Rodrigo Alterio and Claude Davis, medical self-help book that is becoming very popular recently. Doctors share their own experiences and give detailed recipes, describe symptoms and clarify a lot of information to simplify it to the target audience. The first chapter of project is about translation of the abstract from the book. Second Chapter is to give comprehensive analysis of challenges in translation of descriptions of medicines, states and symptoms of some diseases, remedies; to provide a research of techniques of translation applied in the process of translation. Additionally, analysis reveals some stylistic devices that are often used in popular Scientific texts to clarify terminology. This project will be of interest those people who prefer self-treatment.
