Анотація
This bachelor's work, a translation project, is dedicated to the translation and analysis of Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling’s book If It Sounds Like a Quack...: A Journey to the Fringes of American Medicine. This project is divided into two parts: the first section contains the translation of the book, and the second section - a detailed translation analysis. Translating Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling’s investigative journalism, careful adherence to the lexical, stylistic, and grammatical norms of the target language was maintained, employing a diverse range of translation techniques to uphold the author’s distinct narrative style. The second part highlights the challenges encountered in translating medical terminology, paying particular attention to its linguistic and historical aspects. This part of the project also shows how complex, often controversial medical terms were rendered in the target language, and outlines the translation techniques used to ensure both accuracy and stylistic coherence.
