Abstract

The relevance of the topic is determined by the need to prepare students for life in the digital age, where the ability to solve problems through an algorithmic approach, analyze information, and construct models becomes an integral component of educational and professional success. This is particularly important for the new generation, as the development of computational thinking forms the foundation for the future mastery of information technologies and contributes to increasing their competitiveness in society. The State Standard of Primary Education has formally established the necessity of developing students’ basic skills in working with information technologies, which includes the formation of computational thinking as a component of overall digital literacy. The study substantiates the basic concepts of computational thinking and its components and provides an analysis of scientific and methodological literature. The aim of the project is to develop and pilot a set of methodological materials for fostering computational thinking in primary school students based on the integration of digital educational tools, in particular artificial intelligence–based chatbots. The main objectives of the research include analyzing modern educational curricula in terms of opportunities for the development of computational thinking, determining the level of awareness and readiness of teachers to implement appropriate methodologies, developing a set of methodological materials integrated into the subjects «Computer Science», «Mathematics», and «I Explore the World», and creating an online platform for teachers and students that will contain the developed set of methodological materials. The practical significance of the study lies in the creation of an educational platform with a comprehensive set of methodological materials that enables teachers to easily integrate digital technologies and methods for developing computational thinking into the educational process, while also creating conditions for children to develop computational thinking skills, creativity, and independent learning in the digital environment of primary education. In addition, the educational platform includes a collection of instructional chatbots created by the authors on the Mizou platform, which support personalized learning, furthermore, ready-made tasks for the development of computational thinking are provided, and professional development courses for teachers are included to support educators’ professional growth in this field.
