Abstract
The paper addresses the problem of using virtual excursions as an innovative teaching tool in computer science lessons in primary school. The relevance of the study is determined by the processes of informatization and digitalization of education, as well as by the requirements of the Concept of the New Ukrainian School and the State Standard of Primary Education aimed at developing pupils’ information and digital competence. The pedagogical potential of immersive VR technologies in increasing learners’ motivation, cognitive activity, and the development of research skills is substantiated. The study analyzes scientific approaches of both domestic and foreign researchers to the use of virtual reality in the educational process. The types of virtual excursions and the peculiarities of their implementation in primary school are identified. An overview of software tools for creating virtual excursions (Panoeee, CloudPano, Lapentor, Artsteps) is provided, and the expediency of using the Artsteps platform in computer science education is justified. The effectiveness of using virtual excursions in primary school was developed and experimentally tested. The results of the pedagogical experiment confirmed the positive impact of VR technologies on the quality of learning outcomes and pupils’ engagement. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the developed materials by primary school teachers to organize a modern interactive educational environment.
