Abstract
The analysis of literary works is an important component of the development of reading skills in children, especially at the stage of primary education. The ability to critically perceive, comprehend, and interpret what has been read lays the foundation for the further development of deeper literary creativity skills, cognitive development, and emotional sensitivity. Given the importance of this competency for 3rd-grade students, the study of forming the ability to analyze literary works during reading lessons is highly relevant. The relevance of the topic is due to the implementation of the "New Ukrainian School" concept, which involves the development of critical thinking in children through the ability to analyze text, and the formation of communication and reading competencies in students. The ability to analyze literary works contributes to developing children's ability to independently comprehend texts, understand their content, moral aspects, and aesthetic value. This not only improves reading skills but also promotes the overall development of third-graders' personalities. The aim of the study is to theoretically justify, develop, and experimentally test the methodological support for forming the ability to analyze literary works in 3rd-grade students during reading lessons, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of their reading activity and the development of critical and emotionally-valued text perception. Based on the research, a system of tasks, exercises, and methodological techniques has been developed to promote the development of analytical skills in younger students, and the effectiveness of this methodology has been assessed. The results of the study can be used to improve the methodology of teaching reading in primary school.
