Abstract
This bachelor's thesis is about the creation of the author's podcast “Behind The Seams”, which explores fashion as a social, cultural, and political phenomenon in global and local contexts. The theoretical part of the explanatory note analyzes the transformation of fashion journalism in the digital media era, in particular the growing role of podcasts as a slow media format that allows for deeper coverage of cultural processes. Examples of successful fashion podcasts and their role in shaping public discourse on fashion, identity, and historical memory are discussed. The practical part includes the development and implementation of the first five episodes of the podcast “Behind The Seams”, including: “Street Style Without Borders / Ksenia Butenko”, ‘Shopaholism, Impulse Buying: How to Reduce Consumption?’, ‘War and High Fashion: How Global Brands Responded to Conflicts’, ‘Fashion as Diplomacy: How Countries Build Their Image Through Clothing’, ‘Fashion Colonialism: How Fashion Reproduces Imperial Thinking’. The episodes combine elements of journalistic investigation, cultural analysis, and interviews with experts. The podcast has a clear author's concept, a unique audiovisual style and is adapted to modern distribution platforms. The work demonstrates that podcasting is a relevant format for deeper understanding of fashion, capable of developing at the intersection of journalism, culture and digital media.
