Abstract

This article is devoted to professional and pedagogical ethics, serving as a bridge between general moral requirements for teachers and the practical aspects of their professional role in educational activities. The contemporary social context in which educators carry out their professional activities is examined, with an emphasis on certain difficulties and contradictions. The scholarly discourse of domestic and international scholars on pedagogical ethics and its various aspects is analyzed. The scholarly community’s high level of interest in this issue is noted. Emphasis is placed on the fact that contemporary Ukrainian research highlights the value-oriented nature of the educator’s educational activities, where, alongside traditional structural components (goals, content, methods), ethical dimensions and national values play a special role. This corresponds to the challenges of educational reform and Ukraine’s integration into the global educational space. In this article, ethics is viewed as a system-forming component of a teacher’s educational activity; it is integrated into its various components: constructive, organizational, communicative, and gnostic. The primary manifestation of ethics is determined by the humanistic approach to pedagogical practice. Given the multifaceted nature of pedagogical ethics, its dimensions have been identified as ways of understanding and applying moral values, ethical norms, and rules in practice when educators address professional challenges. The following ethical dimensions have been identified: humanistic, professional, social, communicative,and technological. They serve as a guide for the teacher’s professional conduct, regulate moral requirements, and encourage the structuring of educational activities on ethical principles. At the same time, the humanistic dimension of ethics is goal-oriented, setting its direction and influencing the substantive content regarding the implementation of all components of a teacher’s educational activities.Attention is focused on the fact that scientific integrity is important for a teacher as adherence to the principles of objectivity, avoidance of plagiarism, correct use of sources and educational material; responsibility for the results of one's activities as the ability to realize the impact of pedagogical decisions on the development of the individual and society; implementation of pedagogical reflection, analysis of difficulties, professional mistakes.
